There are two ways; Pay-Per-Click and Search Engine Optimization via the organic route.

Pay-Per-Click is an instant method of drawing traffic to your website.  However, the main disadvantage is that it cost money.  Therefore, you could get knocked off rank by someone paying more per click.  It is also very time consuming as you will need to up-date every few hours to prevent someone knocking you from your position.

In comparison to Pay-Per-Click, Search Engine Optimization is free.  You can get a high ranking for valued words and once you have a top spot it is difficult to be knocked off by others, unless they have in-depth knowledge of how the system works.

Search Engine Optimization in not difficult provided you have a realistic plan of action and the right tools for the job.  But if you do it wrong Google will punish you and your website rank will plummet, or worse case scenario you could be suspended.

Choosing The Right Key Words

The trick is to find the right key words, the ones that generate the most interest and money.

Let’s look at these two key words ‘Affiliate Program and ‘Joining Affiliate Program’.  Which do you think would be the words with the most value?

‘Joining Affiliate Program’ would have the most because the term ‘Affiliate Program’ is too general.

Let me explain; people who type in ‘joining affiliate program’ usually do so because that is what they are intending to do, whereas people could type in ‘affiliate program’ for a number of reasons.

Put simply you will get more leads with ‘Joining Affiliate Program’ than you would with ‘Affiliate Program’.

If you focus on the right key words you can expect 20% of your visitors to convert.  Only 20% you may say; but if you convert 20% you WILL have dominated the market.

Although I won’t guarantee that you will get absolute sudden results, considering that there is a lot more factors that determine your site’s rankings than just on-page optimization, but what I do guarantee, is that it will make your efforts for ranking for a particular keyword much easier with long term results.
